“Charming. Whimsical. Fiendishly Inventive...
It’s hard to recall another piece of character comedy as well thought out.”
- Inpress
“This show is not only one of the most original I’ve seen in some time, it’s fun, silly, tightly woven and full of laughter. Claudia O’Doherty is a sheer delight.”
- The Groggy Squirrel
Claudia O’Doherty is the last surviving member of a small colony that lived in an undersea habitat called Aquaplex. This August, she invites you to partake in a cultural presentation celebrating the unique peoples and fascinating history of this forgotten community.
Monster of the Deep 3D is the debut solo show from one of Australian comedy’s most exciting new performers. In spite of the fact that the show deals with colossal squid, Esperanto and the salinity of the Pacific Ocean with unflinching accuracy, it has attracted full houses and rave reviews at the Belvoir St Theatre in Sydney and at the Brisbane, New Zealand and Melbourne International Comedy Festivals, garnering along the way trophies, plaudits and a litany of blown minds. Following the Edinburgh Fringe Festival Claudia will perform a limited season of her award winning show at the Soho Theatre in London.
Claudia’s previous work includes being “the girl” in the award winning theatrical sketch group Pig Island. They received four star reviews in The Guardian, Metro and Chortle for their 2008 Edinburgh fringe show, Simply Fancy. Alongside her burgeoning success on the international festival circuit, she also recently co-wrote 100 Facts About Pandas with David O’Doherty, and is widely considered to be the one true saviour of global entertainment.
